History of BAIC Cars

Some BAIC Car User's Manuals PDF are above this page.

The history of the brand began back in 1958 in Beijing, when the first independently developed sedan called Jinggangshan was released.

Later, the BAIC plant began producing the BJ212 SUV, developed on the basis of the Soviet UAZ-469, its various modifications are still produced to this day.

In October 2002, the joint venture Beijing Hyundai Motor Co., Ltd. was created, and in 2006, the first Mercedes-Benz car produced in China rolled off the BAIC Motor assembly line.

At the end of 2009, BAIC Motor acquired Saab's core assets, engine and gearbox technology, as well as the entire development, production and supply chain.

In October 2012, BAIC launched its research and development center, and at the same time the BAIC Motor production line was launched to produce cars under the Senova brand.

The BAIC BJ100 concept car (aka Beijing Auto BJ100) was showcased at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show.

The large SUV BAIC BJ100 has a five-door hatchback body. Flat chopped panels, embossed rear window, massive bumpers, abundant decor - the creators of the car cannot be blamed for borrowing other people's stylistic solutions.

The car's appearance is complemented by doors that swing open in different directions and airless tires with a honeycomb structure.

Nothing is reported about the technical stuffing; the manufacturer only said that the BAIC BJ100 is equipped with some kind of hybrid power plant.
